MENTORSHIP


“Ordo Supremus Militaris Templi Hierosolymitani - The Grand Priory of Knights Templar in Scotland Ltd, Reg No: SC314552” is the legal name of the Order in Scotland. It is currently working as the Commandery of St Clair, Scotland, No S1, an OSMTH Commandery under Mentorship of the Grand Priory of France, OSMTH.”

To explain this further, the OSMTH Mentorship process requires that we create a legal entity as the first stage of application and recognition.

Once it has legal standing, it can apply for Affiliation to OSMTH with Mentorship by a full “Grand Priory” Member (subject to the terms of the application process). We are grateful to our close friends in France who have steadfastly supported us both in the OSMTH application and in the Mentorship process.

As part of that process we were duly Chartered as a Commandery of the Grand Priory of France in 2006. In 2007 we were then accepted as a Commandery in Affiliation with OSMTH and under Mentorship of the Grand Priory of France, OSMTH. During this process, the legal body, was requested to sign the OSMTH Master Documents, including those relating to the use of the name and graphics.

As the Commandery continues to expand, it will, in due course, re-apply to OSMTH to become “A Priory in Affiliation with OSMTH and under Mentorship of the Grand Priory of France, OSMTH”.

When the levels of Membership and Maturity exist, the Priory can submit an application to OSMTH to become a “Grand Priory” in its own right. At this stage, the working association and legal entity will become one and full rights will be given to the Scottish Body at International Level.

In the meantime the Order will continue its work and will look forward to that glorious day!
